It’s a little embarrassing how much me and my friends love to go out and sing karaoke. But we’re so good at it that it’s not as embarrassing as it could be.
There’s a local bar that specializes in wings that has karaoke every Wednesday night near my apartment that I found out a while back through my wildblue satellite internet service, so we almost always go there to sing. Luckily, most everyone is good there and by the time the bad ones start singing everyone has been drinking a while so it’s not as awful.
Last time we sang Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics and one of our guy friends jumped in after he had been drinking a little too much. He had just had a promotion and was so out of key that it was embarrassing, even to us!
Some of our other favorite karaoke standbys are Soft Cell’s version of ‘Tainted Love’ and ‘Safety Dance’ by Men Without Hats. If you’re assuming we have a soft spot for ’80s music, you’re dead right.
